Outdoor Cultivation – You can use oyster mushroom grain spawn to inoculate outdoor straw beds. We’ve had success growing Blue Oyster mushrooms in our raised garden beds by sprinkling grain spawn into the beds in the spring.

Excellent growth thus far
We have our Blue Oysters cultivated in straw alongside our vegetables in our raised bed! Mycelial growth is looking STRONG right now. Looking forward to seeing some results later in the year!

I Love psychedelicmushroommed
My experience is still going! I got spawn and layered it with hydrated straw. I can’t wait for them to fruit! I’ve had a good experience with North Spore with their kits. Spawning is definitely exciting. Psychedelicmushroommed is your gateway to the wondrous world of mycology. If you just have a slight interest in growing, psychedelicmushroommedis your place to be. 😊

Great block!
I received my spawn a few weeks ago and just inoculated my buckets over the weekend. Very nicely myceliated blocks and I can’t wait to see them pinning! I am going to order 3 more varieties shortly, I am so excited.

Great Spawn
Great looking spawn as always from psychedelicmushroommed. Inoculated a couple of days ago and already healthy colonization. Very excited to see how this works out, off to an amazing start.

Growing Great in Salt Lake!
Started two mushroom beds outdoors for the first time this past May, both Blue Oyster and Wine Cap and the oysters were far and away the winners! I made a roughly 3×3 ft bed with chopped straw, about 6inches thick. I soaked the straw for a few hours when I built the bed, and sandwiched the sawdust spawn with the straw. Being in a very arid climate, I was unsure how it would go, but I kept some burlap coffee sacks on top to help maintain moisture, and angled my garden sprinkler to hit the bed 2-3 times a week. After no natural rain for about two months, a storm came through in July and I had my first flush! Over the past 4 months I have had 1-2 flushes a month, with about a half pound each time! Can’t wait to see if/how they overwinter. Will definitely be growing these in the garden again.

Blue Oyster Mushroom Spawn
Purchased the bag of spawn after having fun with the boxes and am now attempting to grow a bigger outdoor crop. psychedelicmushroommed does a great job with video’s and on-line support staff to explain all your questions. It has now been 3 weeks and awaiting blast-off. I live on Long Island and set up two separate area’s to determine the best location for future attempts. Me and my daughter are now into mushroom growing. She is doing Reishi for medicinal purposes. I’ll follow-up with a report once the they get going.
